Storybook Server 7.6.12 Issues

Summary

I'm trying to upgrade my Storybook Server 7.1.1 instance to 7.6.12 I'm running into some issues.

When launching storybook the console outputs a lot of warnings from the Storybook addons:

WARN export 'default' (imported as 'previewAnnotations') was not found in '[project-dir]/node_modules/@storybook/addon-a11y/dist/preview.js' (module has no exports)
WARN export 'default' (imported as 'previewAnnotations') was not found in '[project-dir]/node_modules/@storybook/addon-essentials/dist/actions/preview.js' (possible exports: argsEnhancers, loaders)
WARN export 'default' (imported as 'previewAnnotations') was not found in '[project-dir]/node_modules/@storybook/addon-essentials/dist/backgrounds/preview.js' (possible exports: decorators, globals, parameters)
WARN export 'default' (imported as 'previewAnnotations') was not found in '[project-dir]/node_modules/@storybook/addon-essentials/dist/docs/preview.js' (possible exports: parameters)

These warnings go away when I switch from storyStoreV6 to V7, however, we're faced with another error when it tries to access http://localhost:6006/index.json on launch:

Error: Error: Unknown node type CallExpression
    at PreviewWeb.getStoryIndexFromServer (http://localhost:6006/sb-preview/runtime.js:87:1192)

I've created a test repo here which is using storybook server from within this package (if you want to see configs, addons, etc.)
