My university is listed as issuing institutional email, but it does not (GitHub Education) #184021

This usually happens when GitHub has your university marked as providing institutional emails, even if in reality it doesn’t. In this case, the best option is to contact GitHub Education support directly and clearly explain that the university does not issue student email addresses under any domain. Ask them to manually review the application based on official documents. When submitting documents, make sure they:
Are in English (or include an English explanation) Some students in similar situations also had success by replying to the rejection email and asking for a manual override instead of reapplying multiple times. Hope this helps, and good luck — you’re not the only one facing this issue. |

Great advice above regarding support! If you want to try an immediate workaround while waiting for a ticket response, there is a known method that often bypasses the "missing email" auto-rejection: 1. The "Live Camera" Method Don't upload: Avoid PDFs or screenshots if possible. Do this: Print your certificate (or open it on a screen) and use your phone/webcam to take a live photo of it during the application flow. 2. Check your Profile Name If they don't match, the bot often defaults to the "missing email" rejection reason simply because it couldn't verify your identity. Hope this gets you unstuck faster! |

Apart from these solutions, you can connect or verify your location, whenever you are at the campus try applying for github edu and there is an option to verify or access your location enable that option, that will definitely get you github student pack |

Hi everyone,
Hello community,
I am having issues with my GitHub Education application and would like to clarify a situation that seems to be causing the rejections.
My university appears to be registered on GitHub as if it issued institutional email accounts, which suggests that students can access an official email address. However, this is not correct: my university does not provide institutional email accounts to students under any domain.
Because of this, I used the alternative verification method and submitted an official certificate of regular student status, which includes my personal details, the university name, and confirmation that I am an active student.
Despite this, my application continues to be rejected with the reason “no institutional email address,” which is something outside of my control.
I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance on how to proceed.
Thank you for your time.
